1. Who We Are

Alarm Locator is developed and operated by Tecnosor ("we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our mobile application ("App") on Android and iOS devices.

2. Privacy at a Glance

Short version: Alarm Locator is a privacy-first app. Your GPS location is processed entirely on your device and is never uploaded to our servers. We do not display advertisements. We do not require an account. We do not sell your data.

Do you show ads?No.
Do you require an account?No.
Do you sell my data?Never.
Do you share data with third parties?Only as described in Section 5 (purchase validation & map tiles).
Is this GDPR compliant?Yes. See Section 7.

3. Data We Collect

3.1 Data stored locally on your device

3.2 Data collected automatically

We do not collect crash reports, analytics telemetry, or device identifiers ourselves. Any operational logging happens exclusively on your device and is discarded when the App is closed.

3.3 Purchase data

If you purchase the Premium plan, the transaction is processed by Apple App Store or Google Play Store according to their respective policies. We use RevenueCat to verify purchase entitlements (see Section 5). RevenueCat receives an anonymous, hashed identifier to validate your subscription status. We do not receive or store your payment card details.

4. Location Data in Detail

Alarm Locator cannot function without access to your device's GPS. We collect location data for the sole purpose of comparing your current position against the alarm coordinates you have saved. This processing happens entirely on your device.

PermissionPlatformPurpose
ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION Android Precise GPS to detect arrival within an alarm radius.
ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION Android Fallback coarse positioning when fine location is unavailable.
ACCESS_BACKGROUND_LOCATION Android Continue monitoring while the App is minimised or the screen is off.
NSLocationAlwaysAndWhenInUseUsageDescription iOS Background location monitoring to fire alarms when the App is not in the foreground.
NSLocationWhenInUseUsageDescription iOS Foreground location for alarm placement on the map.
Why does the App need background location? The App's core feature — triggering an alarm when you arrive at a saved place — only works if the device can check your position while the screen is off or the App is in the background. Without this permission you must keep the App open and the screen on at all times.

Location data is not transmitted. GPS coordinates are processed locally by the foreground service running on your device and are immediately discarded after the proximity check. No location record is written to persistent storage, logs, or any remote server.

5. Third-Party Services

We do not integrate any advertising SDKs, analytics platforms, or social media trackers.

6. Children's Privacy

Alarm Locator is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at tecnosor@gmail.com and we will delete it promptly.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data. Because we store virtually all data locally on your device, most rights can be exercised directly within the App or by uninstalling it.

RightHow to exercise
AccessAll data is visible in the App itself.
RectificationEdit any alarm directly in the App.
Erasure ("right to be forgotten")Delete individual alarms in the App, or clear all data by uninstalling.
Restriction / ObjectionDisable location permission in your device system settings.
PortabilityA future export feature is planned. Contact us if you need this urgently.
RevenueCat data deletionEmail us at tecnosor@gmail.com and we will request deletion from RevenueCat on your behalf.

GDPR (EU/EEA users): The legal basis for processing your location is contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) — location processing is strictly necessary to deliver the service you requested. You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority if you believe your rights have been violated.

CCPA (California residents): We do not sell personal information. You have the right to know what personal information we collect and to request its deletion.

8. Data Retention

Alarm configurations and preferences are retained on your device until you delete them or uninstall the App. We have no server-side copy. RevenueCat retains purchase records as necessary for accounting and fraud-prevention purposes; their retention policy is described in RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.

9. Security

Because location data is never transmitted, the attack surface is minimal by design. Alarm data stored locally on your device is protected by your operating system's sandboxing and device encryption (where enabled). We recommend you keep your device OS and the App up to date to benefit from the latest security patches.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and, where feasible, notify you within the App. Your continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Tecnosor ("we", "us", "our").

Future premium features (recurring alarms, custom sounds, etc.)

We reserve the right to adjust the features included in each tier at any time, with reasonable notice. Changes will not retroactively reduce Premium entitlements for active subscribers.

4. Purchases, Subscriptions & Refunds

Premium access is available as a one-time purchase or subscription, depending on the offer presented in the App. All transactions are processed by Apple App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android) through RevenueCat.

5. Required Permissions

The App requires location permission (including background location on Android) to provide its core functionality. You can revoke this permission at any time in your device settings; doing so will prevent the App from triggering location-based alarms while the App is not in the foreground.

The App also requests permission to post notifications and to prevent the system from putting the alarm service to sleep. These permissions are used exclusively to deliver alarm alerts.

6. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use the App to:

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR €10, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of liability for incidental or consequential damages. In such jurisdictions our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.

9. Safety Notice

Important: Do not use Alarm Locator as a safety-critical system. The App depends on GPS signal availability, device battery, operating system task scheduling, and other factors outside our control. Do not rely solely on this App in situations where missing an alarm could endanger life, safety, or property.

When using the App on public transport or while cycling or driving, observe all local traffic laws and safety guidelines. Do not interact with your device while operating a vehicle.

10. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, graphics, text, code, and all other content, is owned by or licensed to Tecnosor and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. "Alarm Locator" and the Tecnosor name and logo are trademarks of Tecnosor.

The App incorporates open-source software components. Applicable licences (including MIT, BSD, and others) are respected. A list of third-party licences is available upon request.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without cause, and without notice if you breach these Terms. You may terminate your use at any time by uninstalling the App.

Upon termination, all data stored locally on your device will remain until you delete it or perform a factory reset. No data is held on our servers that requires deletion on termination (except for RevenueCat purchase records, where applicable).

12. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Spain, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall first be attempted to be resolved amicably by contacting us at tecnosor@gmail.com. Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory consumer rights under applicable EU or national consumer protection law.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where feasible, notify you through the App or the store listing. Your continued use of the App after the revised Terms take effect constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
